A Heat exchanger is a device that is built for the more efficient heat transfer from one medium to another. This is widely used in petrochemical plants, petroleum refineries, and natural gas processing. One great example of a heat exchanger is the car radiator, wherein the heat source, being a hot engine-cooling fluid, water, transmits heat to air flowing through the radiator.

The design has cross flow and counter flow, that also comes with different fin configurations, like straight fins, wavy and offset fins. Plate and fin heat exchangers are usually composed of aluminum alloys that provide higher heat transfer efficiency and the materials enable the system to operate at a lower temperature and it also lessens the weight of the machine.

A solar heater is like flat plate heaters because it uses a flat plate. These solar heaters that use flat plate heaters can provide hot water in all weather conditions and it also reduces the energy consumption by sixty percent. There are also portable heaters that are made available for outdoor usage. These portable heaters are very practical to use because they are very easy to carry and can be brought anywhere to provide comfort to its users.

These heaters are also economical to use because they conserve energy and some are using batteries so they are also advantageous even if there are power failures.
