Some of these heaters are also very conveniently battery operated, so that they can work even in areas where no electricity is available, such as in forests or campgrounds. These heaters are often used by campers and people who love outdoor activities. There are also heaters of these type that use charcoal, so there are really many types of a portable heaters that people could choose from.

These hot plate heaters are designed to warm and impart humidity to the breathable gas, before it is given to the patient. The hot plate is usually thickly machined, to have a significant thermal mass. It is also usually placed on top of the heater unit, by fastening mount members like spring loaded metal screws, which are connected to the support the structure of the heater unit.
